About Us

What drives us
We have a desire to make sure you are comfortable and happy at all times! We want you to enjoy your vacation! That is why we are staying here at the park --to ensure that EVERYTHING is to our own standards for what a great RV park should be. As you will see when you read about our park, everything is based on something we liked when we stayed somewhere on vacation. So that is what drives us--making sure you enjoy yourself!

People
Craig Claney is an electronics engineer by trade, having worked for Applied Materials since July of 1989. He is a senior manager for the company. He is our resident handyman (although we are looking for a replacement--he doesn't really want to keep the title!). He is well-traveled, having logged over 3 million miles on American Airlines alone! He loves to travel, but he would like to settle down and just run the RV park for a change. He is also very knowlegeable about RV repairs, having repaired many things on ours over the years. So feel free to ask him any questions about yours! He is also very knowledgeable about this area, so if you have questions about how to get somewhere, he is your "walking map..." He also loves to hunt and fish, so he can guide you to the "sweet spots" for those activities as well...

Patty Claney is an elementary teacher by trade, having taught for 13 years in Texas. Although, since she couldn't get a teaching job right away in Texas, she did log a few years as an editor for an educational publishing company. And yes, she drives everyone crazy finding spelling mistakes in everything--no menu is safe in this town! She loves to garden, sew, cross-stitch, and crochet--but she's also into hunting and fishing and outdoor activities as well. Be careful around August and September--she's used to talking to all those teachers and kids, so she just may talk your leg off! She is also your resident office manager, so she will help you with anything you need up there at the Big Creek RV office...

Roxy is the resident mascot--our 2-year-old Jack Russell terrier. She is very cute and quite a handful. We like to describe her as "electricity on a leash"! We try to follow our own dog rules, which are "please keep your pet on a leash." However, Roxy may escape at times, as she likes to chew through things (walls, wood, etc.). So if you see her, please let us know, and our apologies!

Company
Big Creek RV Park began as an idea several years ago, as we began traveling about the country in our own RV. We thought it would be fun to operate our own RV park--as an "early retirement" of sorts. We began collecting information as we traveled, what we liked about each RV park and RV resort we visited, as well as what we thought was missing from some of them. Big Creek RV Park is what we came up with from all that research! We want you to come and stay with us and enjoy all the wonderful amenities the area surrounding the RV park have to offer.
